Every contractor knows which jobs are worth their time and which ones aren't. The problem on a lot of lead platforms is that acting on that knowledge isn't free. Sometimes you've already paid by the time you find out a job is a poor fit. Other times you feel pressure to respond to everything so you don't look unresponsive.

You only pay when you unlock
Browsing the job board costs nothing. You can read each job's title, description, location, and photos before spending a single credit. Credits only come out of your balance when you click Unlock on a specific job. Every job you scroll past, skim, or open and close again costs you exactly zero.
That means you're never paying to find out a job is wrong for you. You get to make that call first, with the details in front of you.
No penalty for passing
Skipping a job doesn't count against you. There's no response-rate score that drops when you don't unlock something, and passing on jobs has no effect on your profile or your standing. In the contractor directory, homeowners can sort by things like rating, number of reviews, and completed jobs. How many leads you turned down isn't one of them.
The same goes for direct requests. If a homeowner asks for you by name and the job isn't a fit, you can let it go. You're not charged for the request, and if you don't pick it up, it simply goes stale after a while.
Why that matters for your business
When passing costs nothing, you can afford to be picky in the ways that actually protect your margins:
- Skip jobs outside your specialty instead of stretching into work you'd rather not do.
- Skip jobs that are too far away to be worth the drive.
- Skip vague posts where you can't tell what's actually being asked for.
- Skip jobs that don't fit your schedule this week, without worrying that it'll hurt you later.

Compare that to paying first and sorting later
On platforms where leads are matched to you and charged automatically, some of your spend goes to jobs you would have skipped if you'd had the chance to look first. Over a month, those misfires add up, and they're money you never had a real choice about.
