Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Rethink Routine LLC, which owns and operates Jobiteer ("Jobiteer," "we," "us"), collects through the Jobiteer website, web app, and iPhone and Android apps (the "Platform"), how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service. Words defined in the Terms (such as Homeowner, Contractor, and Company Owner) mean the same here.
1. The Short Version
- We collect what's needed to run the Platform: your account, what you post and send, your business records if you're a Contractor, and some device and usage information.
- Much of what you post is public, including to people who aren't signed in: job posts (with your first name, photo, and city), profiles, ratings, and reviews.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
- We share information with the service providers that run parts of the Platform for us (such as hosting, payments, maps, AI, notifications, and analytics), and when the law requires it.
- The Platform is self-service. You can see, change, export, and delete most of your information yourself.
2. Information You Give Us
- Account: name (we don't check that it's your legal name), email address, password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form by our login provider; we never see it), optional phone number, and profile photo.
- Profile: for Contractors, specialties, bio, service areas (city, state, and zip code), badges you claim (insured, bonded, warranty), business name, address, phone, and email, price book, availability, and vacation dates.
- Addresses: for Homeowners, your home and other property addresses. A job post shows only its city, state, and zip code. To hire, you give the Contractor the job's address, and optionally your phone and email.
- Posts, messages, and photos: job posts and their photos, chat messages and the photos and files you send, reviews, review replies, and reports you make.
- Business records (Contractors): estimates, invoices, plans, appointments, customers' names and service addresses and contact details, expenses, receipts, mileage trips, time entries, labor costs, notes, and Jobi settings.
- Companies: company details, team members' names and emails (including invitations sent to people who aren't users yet), team roles, and spending limits.
- Purchases: what you bought and when. Card details go straight to Stripe, Apple, or Google; we never see or store your full card number.
- Agreements: a record of when you agreed to the Terms and this Policy, which version, and the email you used then.
3. Information Collected Automatically
- Location, only when you tap a feature that uses it. When a Contractor taps "On my way" or "I'm here," one reading of the device's location is sent to us. We don't track location in the background. Mileage trips store start and end points rounded to about 100 meters, and those points are deleted after 30 days, leaving the miles.
- Device and connection: your IP address and browser or device type (used by our hosting, security, and anti-bot services, and to recognize a device you've already signed in on), your time zone, app version, and push notification tokens.
- Activity on the Platform: for example, jobs you view, searches you save, when you open messages, typing indicators, and invoice views, used to run features like notifications, follow-ups, and Jobi's timing.
- Analytics and crash reports: which pages and screens are used, and crash and error details from the apps, linked to your account ID so we can fix problems (see Section 9).
- Photo information: photos can carry hidden details such as where they were taken. The Platform re-saves photos before upload to remove those details, but can't guarantee it in every case, so check photos before you post them.
4. Information From Others
- Other users: reviews and replies about you, messages they send you, invoices and estimates that name you, the address and contact details a Homeowner shares when hiring, and company invitations.
- Payment and app store providers: confirmation of purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Map and address services: standardized addresses and map coordinates for addresses you enter.
5. How We Use Information
- To run the Platform: accounts, job posts, the job feed and directory, unlocks and credits, messaging, hiring, scheduling, visits, plans, reviews, companies, and business tools.
- To send notifications: push notifications for messages and activity (a message notification can show the first part of the message on your lock screen), saved search alerts, reminders, and follow-ups; and emails for account security, invitations, and a few job post updates. We don't send marketing emails.
- To take the automatic actions described in the Terms, such as reminders, confirmations, bookings, refunds, and closing posts.
- To keep the Platform working and safe: preventing bots, fraud, spam, and abuse, handling reports and blocks, removing contact details from public text, fixing bugs, and securing accounts.
- To show combined price information built from completed jobs' invoices, as described in Section 7.
- To understand how the Platform is used and improve it.
- To follow the law, enforce our Terms, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Jobiteer, our users, and others.
6. AI Features (Jobi)
Jobi uses an outside AI service, Google's Gemini API, to do its work. When Jobi is used, we send Google only what that task needs:
- Chat replies, follow-ups, and conversation reads: the recent messages in that one chat, photos the Homeowner sent in it, the job's details, and the information the Contractor chose to give Jobi. Phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, and links are removed from the text first. Jobi never sees other chats.
- Conversation reads (Jobi plan): Jobi's private read for the Contractor (how close the Homeowner seems to hiring, their mood, what matters to them, and a suggested next step) is stored and shown only to that Contractor. It never describes personal traits such as age, gender, race, religion, or health.
- Receipt reading (Jobi plan): the receipt photo or PDF the Contractor chooses. The vendor, total, and date it finds are stored with the expense.
Jobi doesn't run in a chat where the Homeowner turned it off, or between people who blocked each other. Under Google's terms for paid use of its API, Google processes this information to provide the service to us and doesn't use it to train its models. AI results can be wrong; see the Terms.
7. Who Can See Your Information
Anyone, including people who aren't signed in and search engines:
- job posts: title, description (with contact details removed), category, photos, city, state, zip code, and the Homeowner's first name and profile photo;
- Contractor profiles: name, photo, business name, specialties, service areas, badges, ratings, reviews and replies, job counts, and live status (such as "on a job" or "on vacation"); and
- ratings and reviews shown on any public profile, with the names and photos of the people in them.
Other users you deal with:
- People you chat with see your messages, photos, and the visit notices, invoices, estimates, and appointments in that chat. We don't filter what you choose to type into a message.
- When a Contractor taps "On my way," the Homeowner sees an approximate area (about a half-mile circle) and an estimated arrival time. When an arrival is confirmed, the Homeowner sees a map pin at the Contractor's location.
- When you hire, the Contractor sees the job address and the phone and email you choose to share. If the Contractor works for a company, the Company Owner can also see them, and can hand the job to another team member, who then sees them too.
Within a company: the Company Owner can see team members' company jobs, customers' first names, visit times, estimates, invoices, ratings, expenses, mileage trips, and time entries. The Company Owner can't see team members' chat messages.
Combined price information: invoice totals and quantities from completed jobs are combined with the job's type, size, city, state, zip code, and month to show price ranges. These never show names, contact details, addresses, messages, or photos, and are shown for an area only once it has enough jobs.
Our team: people who operate the Platform can access its systems. We don't routinely read private messages, but we may access any information when needed to keep the Platform running, fix problems, investigate security incidents, fraud, or serious abuse, or follow the law.
8. Service Providers We Use
These companies process information for us, to run the Platform on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Supabase (database, login, file storage, and server functions) and Vercel (website hosting).
- Stripe (website payments), Apple and Google Play (app purchases and subscriptions).
- Google Gemini API (Jobi, see Section 6).
- Google Maps Platform (address suggestions as you type, address lookups, map images, directions, travel times, and mileage distances), and the U.S. Census Bureau and OpenStreetMap address lookup services as backups. What you type into an address box, and the addresses and locations being looked up, are sent to them.
- Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics (usage statistics) and Firebase Crashlytics (app crash reports).
- Expo, Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and your web browser's push service (delivering push notifications).
- Resend (sending emails).
- Cloudflare Turnstile (an invisible check at sign up, log in, and password reset that tells people from bots).
9. Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Tools
The website and web app use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count page visits and see how the Platform is used. The phone apps use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for the same purpose and to report crashes. We use your browser's or device's local storage to keep you signed in, remember a trusted device, and save preferences such as your theme. We don't use these tools for targeted advertising, and we don't allow advertising networks on the Platform.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Because there's no common standard for "Do Not Track" signals, the Platform doesn't respond to them.
10. When Else We Share Information
- When the law requires it, or when we believe in good faith that sharing is needed to respond to legal process, protect someone from harm, investigate fraud or security problems, or protect the rights and property of Jobiteer, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, where information may be transferred under this Policy.
- With your direction or consent, for example when you share your contact card with a Contractor.
- Information that no longer identifies you, such as combined statistics.
11. We Don't Sell Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined by U.S. state privacy laws. We haven't done so in the past 12 months. We don't knowingly collect or sell information about anyone under 18. We don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
12. How Long We Keep Information
We keep information while your account is open and as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, then delete it or keep it in a form that doesn't identify you. Some examples:
- Mileage trip start and end points: 30 days, then removed (the miles stay).
- Map images for visit notices are drawn when viewed, not stored.
- Job posts, messages, reviews, invoices, and estimates: kept, because they are shared records the other users in them rely on (see Section 13).
- Purchase records and agreement records: kept as long as needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal purposes, including after your account is deleted.
- Backups and logs kept by our providers are deleted on their own schedules.
13. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account anytime in your profile settings, in the web app or phone app. When you do:
- Removed: your email, phone, profile photo link, bio, addresses, business contact details, saved properties and locations, service areas, specialties, favorites, saved searches, push tokens, remembered devices, price book, Jobi settings, open appointments, your own expenses and receipt files, your own mileage and time records, and your credits.
- Changed: your account shows as "Deleted User." Your open job posts are closed, pending requests are declined, and active hires end. A website or Google Play Jobi plan is cancelled; an Apple subscription must be cancelled in your Apple account.
- Kept: messages you sent, reviews you wrote and received, job posts, invoices, estimates, and other records shared with other users, shown with "Deleted User" in place of your name; company records that belong to a company's books; purchase records; agreement records; and combined price information. Photos already posted may remain stored.
Deletion can't be undone. Site administrators and owners of an open company must hand off or close those first.
14. Your Choices and Rights
- See and correct: view and edit your profile, addresses, and settings in the Platform.
- Export: Contractors can export invoices, expenses, mileage, time, and tax summaries from their profile.
- Delete: delete your account yourself (Section 13), or delete individual items where the Platform allows.
- Notifications: turn push notifications on or off by type in the Platform, or in your device or browser settings.
- Jobi: Homeowners can turn Jobi off for a chat. Contractors can turn it off in their settings.
- Location: location is used only when you tap a feature that needs it, and you can deny location permission in your device settings.
State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale, targeted advertising, or profiling with significant effects (we don't do those), and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Most of these can be done yourself in the Platform. For any request you can't complete yourself, email jobiteer@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy Request" from the email on your account. We will verify your identity before acting, may ask for more information to do so, and will respond within the time the law requires. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the subject "Privacy Appeal," and if the appeal is denied you may contact your state's attorney general. We may deny requests the law doesn't require us to honor, or that would affect other people's rights or records (such as messages or reviews they received).
15. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, database access rules that limit who can read each record, bot checks, and new-device confirmation. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee the security of your information. Protect your password and devices. If we learn of a security breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires, by email or through the Platform.
16. Children
The Platform is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete the account.
17. United States Only
The Platform is meant for people in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the Platform from elsewhere, you understand your information will be handled under U.S. law.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. We'll post the new version with a new "Last Updated" date, and for important changes we may also tell you through the Platform or by email. If you keep using the Platform after a change, the updated Policy applies.
19. Contact
