Most homeowners are reasonable people who want a job done well. But every contractor eventually runs into one who isn't: someone who gets abusive in messages, makes demands in bad faith, or treats your time like it's worth nothing. A lead platform should give you ways to deal with that, not just ways to find work.
Here's what Jobiteer gives you.
Block someone outright
If a homeowner is harassing you, you can block them from their profile. Once you do, neither of you can send new messages to the other. This is enforced by Jobiteer's system itself, not just hidden on your screen, so it can't be worked around.
Your block list is private. You can see and manage the people you've blocked from your profile, and unblock anyone later if you change your mind.
Report bad behavior
You can also report a user and describe what happened. When enough people report the same person, our team is alerted to review the account. Taking action against someone's whole account is a serious step, so a person makes that call rather than an automatic system.
If the problem is a specific job post, such as a scam or a listing that isn't a real job, you can report the post itself. Posts that get reported by enough different people are hidden from the board automatically.
Ratings work in both directions
On Jobiteer, homeowners get rated too. After working with a homeowner, contractors can leave a review, and a homeowner's rating shows up right on their job posts. That means other contractors can see how a homeowner has treated the people who worked with them before deciding whether to reach out.
It also works in your favor before you ever unlock a job. If a homeowner's rating gives you pause, you can simply pass. Skipping a job costs you nothing.
You can step away from a hire
If you've been hired and it becomes clear the job isn't going to work, you're not stuck. You can remove yourself as the hired contractor, which reopens the post for the homeowner to find someone else. Walking away from a bad situation is sometimes the right business decision, and the platform lets you make it.
What this does and doesn't do
None of these tools can guarantee you'll never deal with a difficult customer. Reports about people are reviewed by our team rather than acted on automatically, and ratings depend on contractors actually leaving them. But together they mean you have options: cut off contact, flag the behavior, warn other contractors through an honest review, and walk away when you need to.
Your time and your safety matter. If a homeowner crosses the line, use these tools, and let us know.
