When someone reports a user on Jobiteer, that report doesn't hide their profile or remove them from anything. Reports about people only alert our team, and when enough people have reported the same person, a human reviews the account and decides whether anything needs to happen.
That means a single report, or even a few from people who just didn't like dealing with you, doesn't put your profile, your reviews, or your ability to find work at risk on its own. Someone has to actually look at what happened.
Posts need a real pattern, not one complaint
Job posts do get hidden automatically, but never because of one report. It takes reports from several different people before a post is pulled from the board. One person reporting something, however many times they try, doesn't add up to that.
That's the same principle applied to listings: automatic action happens when there's a clear pattern from separate people, not when one person is upset.
Safeguards against gaming the system
A threshold alone isn't enough if someone can just get a few friends or extra accounts to pile on. So reporting on Jobiteer includes safeguards on top of it:
- Only separate people count. The same person reporting repeatedly doesn't move anything.
- Not every report counts the same way. Some reports don't count toward automatic action, which makes coordinated pile-ons with throwaway accounts much less effective.
- Cleared means harder to re-target. If something is reviewed and restored, it takes more reports to trigger action against it again.
- There's a limit on how many reports one account can file, so no single account can mass-report its way through the platform.

It shouldn't be something one unhappy person can take away with a click.
