The short version

  • Both are free for homeowners. Jobiteer has no paid membership to upsell you.
  • Post your job once and interested pros reach out to you, instead of contacting pros one by one.
  • See what homeowners near you actually paid for the same kind of job before you choose.
  • Your phone number stays private, and every review comes from a real job hired on Jobiteer.

For an easy, private way to hire at a fair price, Jobiteer does the legwork for you.

Let the right pros come to you

On Thumbtack you search, review a list of pros and choose who to contact; Thumbtack lets you reach up to five pros in the first four hours, and more after that. It works, but the legwork is on you.

On Jobiteer you describe the job once: pick the trade and what needs doing, and add a few photos. Local pros who want the job message you, so you're choosing between people who are already interested. Prefer to browse? The pro directory lets you filter by trade and area and ask several pros for quotes in one tap.

Know the fair price before you hire

The hardest part of hiring is knowing whether a quote is fair. When you post on Jobiteer, you see what homeowners near you actually paid for the same kind of job, and your budget is suggested from those numbers. Pros see a realistic budget too, so quotes start in the right range.

Private by default, shared when you choose

Both keep your number private: Thumbtack says your phone number stays private and protected. On Jobiteer, pros reach you in the app's private chat and your phone number is never shown to them. When you hire someone, you can choose to share your phone and email with that one pro, so their estimates and invoices fill in for you. Posting a job never gives out your number.

Reviews you can trust

Thumbtack labels reviews from customers who hired through Thumbtack, and pros can also invite reviews from customers they met elsewhere. On Jobiteer, every review comes from a job hired on Jobiteer. Pros and homeowners rate each other, and neither sees the other's review until both are in, so reviews stay honest. Profiles also show each pro's insured, bonded and warranty badges.

Fast answers, in a chat that feels familiar

When a pro is on a job or it's after hours, you don't have to wait to hear back. Pros who use Jobi, Jobiteer's AI assistant, have it answer for them: it's always labeled Jobi AI, it answers from the pro's own information, can suggest a time, and lets the pro know right away. If you'd rather wait for the pro, you can turn it off for your chat anytime.

  • React with an emoji or swipe to reply, like the messaging apps you already use
  • Share photos, get estimates and invoices, and book, all in the same thread
  • When you hire, you can choose to share your phone and email with that pro, so estimates and invoices fill in for you
  • Block anyone at any time, and report anything that doesn't feel right

How to get started

  1. Post your job for free. Pick the trade and what needs doing, add a few photos. It takes a couple of minutes.
  2. See what it should cost. Jobiteer shows what homeowners near you paid for the same kind of job.
  3. Chat with the pros who want it. Compare their reviews and credentials, then book a time that works, all in the app.
