Jobiteer vs Bark for contractors: pay-per-lead that keeps working for you

Bark and Jobiteer both let you pay only for the leads you choose. The difference is in the details: credits that never expire, your credits back when a homeowner never replies, and every business tool included without a premium plan.

Updated October 2026·4 min read ContractorsHomeowners

The short version

  • Bark credits bought since November 2025 expire 3 months after purchase. Credits you buy on Jobiteer never expire.
  • Bark says a customer not answering or replying doesn't qualify for a credit return. On Jobiteer, if a homeowner never replies to you, your credits come back automatically.
  • Bark's invoicing tools and higher ranking come with its Elite Pro subscription. Jobiteer includes estimates, invoices, a price book, dashboards and teams for everyone.
  • Jobiteer is built only for home projects, and gives you free credits every month.
  • With the Jobi plan, every chat shows where the homeowner stands: their stage, their mood, what matters most to them and your best next move.

Same pay-per-lead idea, built further. Jobiteer keeps your credits and your tools working for you.

Credits that stay yours

Bark and Jobiteer both use credits, and both show you the cost before you spend. On Bark, credits cost $2.35 each in the US, with lower per-credit prices in larger packs. Credits bought on or after November 1, 2025 expire three months after purchase, and expired credits aren't refundable.

On Jobiteer, credits you buy never expire, and free credits refresh every month. You can buy a pack when it suits you, without a clock running on it.

No expiry date. Credits you buy on Jobiteer are yours until you use them.

When a homeowner never replies

Bark's credit return policy covers things like invalid phone numbers or the wrong service, reported within 14 days and decided at Bark's discretion. Its help center is clear that a customer not answering or replying doesn't qualify.

That's exactly the case Jobiteer covers. If you unlock a job and the homeowner never writes back to you, your credits come back automatically once the job closes. You don't fill in a form or argue your case.

Everything included, no premium tier

Bark's Elite Pro subscription adds invoicing tools, a 20% discount on credit packs, two free leads a week and higher ranking, and Bark's terms say its default ranking favors pros on a subscription package. Bark also describes its Starter Pack as the only way to get started and trial Bark properly.

On Jobiteer there's no premium tier and no paid ranking boost. Every pro gets the same tools from day one:

  • Estimates and itemized invoices with tax, built from your price book
  • Availability and a schedule that bookings respect
  • "On my way" and a verified "I've arrived"
  • Dashboards for earnings, win rate and the return on every lead

Built for home projects

Bark covers more than 2,000 service categories, from home and garden to many others. Jobiteer is built only for home projects, so job posts come with the details trades need: the trade, the exact item, what's wrong, photos and often a budget. Homeowners see what others nearby paid for the same kind of job, so budgets tend to be realistic before you ever reply.

You can also see how many pros are already talking with each homeowner, and save searches to get an alert the moment a matching job appears.

Answer every homeowner, even when you can't

Jobi, Jobiteer's optional AI assistant, replies to homeowners when you're on a job, after hours or on days off. It answers from your profile and price book, offers open times from your calendar, follows up when a homeowner goes quiet, always as your AI assistant, and steps back the moment you reply.

Know where every customer stands

On Bark you usually call the customer and size them up yourself. Bark's public pages don't describe AI that answers or reads customers for you. Jobi does both.

At the top of every chat, Jobi gives you its read on the homeowner:

  • Stage: just looking, comparing options, ready to book, booked, or done. Booked and done come from the real booking, not a guess
  • Mood, with the homeowner's own words that show it
  • What matters most: price, speed, quality, trust, convenience or communication
  • Your next move: one honest, specific suggestion for your next message

It refreshes a minute or so after the homeowner writes, in every chat, including the ones you're answering yourself. Jobi's own replies follow it too: calm and reassuring with someone stressed, leading with price for someone comparing quotes. Only you ever see it.

Say the right thing the first time. Know who's ready to book and who's still comparing, and what each one needs to hear, without rereading the whole chat.

  3. Save a search for the jobs you want. You'll get an alert the moment a matching job is posted near you.
  4. Keep Bark if you like. Nothing stops you from using both while you see where your best jobs come from. Your Jobiteer dashboard shows exactly what each lead earned.
