How you get work
TaskRabbit is designed around booking. A client picks a task, browses nearby Taskers by hourly rate and reviews, and books one. As a Tasker you receive invitations and need to respond within TaskRabbit's response windows. TaskRabbit ranks Taskers with a Performance Score: the number of invoices you submit divided by the invitations you receive, per skill. Invitations you turn down still count.
Jobiteer flips that around. Homeowners post the job they need done, with the trade, the exact item, photos and often a budget. You browse the jobs in your trades and service area and unlock only the ones that fit your schedule and your skills. Nothing you skip ever counts against you.
Your price is the price your customer pays
On TaskRabbit, most work is billed by the hour at a rate you set, and you keep 100% of it. TaskRabbit earns its money from the client side: every client pays a Service Fee on top of your rate, plus a Trust & Support Fee shown as its own line on the receipt. To a homeowner comparing prices, your hourly rate effectively looks higher than what you charge.
Jobiteer never adds anything to your customer's bill. Homeowners use Jobiteer for free, and they pay you directly, so the number on your estimate is the number they pay. Jobiteer never takes a percentage of your job either.
Instead, you pay to unlock the leads you choose. The exact cost is shown on every job before you spend anything, you get free credits every month, and if a homeowner never replies after you unlock their job, your credits come back once the job closes.
Price jobs the way your trade works
Hourly is fine for assembling a bookshelf. A fence, a floor or a water heater is usually priced by the foot, by the item or as a flat project. Jobiteer's price book lets you save your usual prices with units and minimum charges, and drop them straight into an estimate.
Run the whole job, not just the visit
TaskRabbit gives Taskers in-app chat, scheduling and hourly invoicing, with a one-hour minimum and 15-minute increments. That fits short tasks well. Bigger jobs need more, and Jobiteer includes it:
- Estimates before the work and itemized invoices with tax after it, right in the chat
- A schedule that respects your working hours and days off
- "On my way" and a verified "I've arrived", with your home kept private
- Dashboards for earnings, win rate, reply speed and the real return on every lead
- A team account, so your crew can work under one company profile
Customers who come back to you
Repeat work is where a trade business grows. On Jobiteer your profile, your reviews and your customer history stay with you. Jobiteer marks homeowners who have hired you before, and they can request you directly for their next job.
Your profile also does the selling for you: your trades, service areas, and insured, bonded and warranty badges sit right at the top, before a homeowner ever sends a message. Reviews only come from people who actually hired you, and you can reply to every one of them publicly.
Let Jobi answer while you work
Homeowners often hire whoever answers first. Jobi, Jobiteer's optional AI assistant, covers your chats when you're on a job, after hours or on your days off. It answers from your profile and price book, offers open times from your real calendar, and follows up when a homeowner goes quiet. It always tells the homeowner it's an AI assistant, and it steps back the moment you reply.
Know where every customer stands
TaskRabbit's public pages don't describe AI that answers clients or reads them for you. On Jobiteer, Jobi does both.
At the top of every chat, Jobi gives you its read on the homeowner:
- Stage: just looking, comparing options, ready to book, booked, or done. Booked and done come from the real booking, not a guess
- Mood, with the homeowner's own words that show it
- What matters most: price, speed, quality, trust, convenience or communication
- Your next move: one honest, specific suggestion for your next message
It refreshes a minute or so after the homeowner writes, in every chat, including the ones you're answering yourself. Jobi's own replies follow it too: calm and reassuring with someone stressed, leading with price for someone comparing quotes. Only you ever see it.
Getting started takes about 10 minutes
- Create your free account. Choose "I'm a contractor" when you sign up. No card needed.
- Add your trades and service areas. Plus your insurance, bonding and warranty badges, so homeowners see them up front.
- Save a search for the jobs you want. You'll get an alert the moment a matching job is posted near you.
- Keep TaskRabbit if you like. Nothing stops you from using both while you see where your best jobs come from. Your Jobiteer dashboard shows exactly what each lead earned.
Questions people ask
What does Jobi tell me about a customer?
With the Jobi plan, every chat shows Jobi's read on the homeowner: where they are in deciding (just looking, comparing, ready to book, booked or done), their mood with the words from the chat that show it, what matters most to them, and a suggested next move. Only you see it, and it never labels who someone is, only how the conversation reads.
Can I use Jobiteer and TaskRabbit at the same time?
Yes. Many pros keep using what already works while they try Jobiteer. Your Jobiteer dashboard shows what every lead earned, so you can see where your best jobs come from.
Does Jobiteer charge a registration fee?
No. Joining is free, and you get free credits every month. You only pay when you choose to unlock a lead.
Does Jobiteer take a cut of my job?
Never. Homeowners pay you directly, and Jobiteer adds nothing to their bill.
What kinds of jobs are on Jobiteer?
Real home projects across the trades: plumbing, electrical, roofing, carpentry, concrete, painting, cleaning and more. Each post shows the trade, the item and what needs doing.
Will skipping jobs hurt my standing?
No. You choose which jobs to unlock. Passing on a job has no effect on your profile.
